Good. The world operates by trade and exchange. The successful Africans I know are intelligent and speak at least 3 languages (unlike my dumb ass Americans). There are even poor Mexicans in TJ can switch up to French, German and Japanese with general words. My upper-middle class White American friends at least did a summer abroad or cultural exchange in another country, one in Chile to hone Spanish speaking skills. And stop the xenophobic talk, language learning it's a two way streak. If you are monolingual, you lost at life. Your parents and education system failed you. It's never too late and you can also expose your children to language learning during developmental years so your progeny will have a competitive advantage (which will also benefit you at old age). If not you are basically no different than the poor stagnant folks in Rust Belt who don't progress.

This isnt a bad thing. People should be well equipped to deal with a world power that is influential in the continent.

Theres also no proof that Senegalese have stopped speaking Wolof. The local languages are the language of the average person and this is the case in most African countries.

If anything theres more proof that French is losing ground:

Senegal: bad news for the French language

China is a power that many are gonna be dealing with in the future. Not like their replacing their internal language's with it. So I'm not seeing the issue with this.
