I wanna hear why Mannie was making hits for a year or 2 after leaving Cash Money, then just completely disappeared, no placements anywhere for 10+ yrs. Never understood it

The industry disappeared breh. Budgets disappeared. Placements too. New age artists have been coming in with their albums done and collaborative producers of their own on deck.

The way music was made through the system and outside of it is 2 different things. Name brand producers from the old industry era often opt to not participate anymore because they have to lower their rates to play the game these days.

Got too expensive probably. All the new ATL rappers were using somebody local coming into the game

That would explain him being cold and not making hits, but he didn't have any placements even on southern albums from rappers he made a bunch of songs with before. Seems like there's more to the story

Fresh changed his style of production 3 times

I fukk with Jay...he no.2 behind Pac for me...but I'm also a southern rap historian...and it's so frustrating that every single dope rapper out the south that work with Jay have their interviews centered around working with Jay...makes me understand why people be like fukk that nikka....nobody but me and 3 other nikkas give a motherfukk about Jay HA verse...east coast interviewers act like it was the holy testament when they talk to Juve....or they only talk about back that azz up and ha....I swear, it's like talking to Nas and focusing the interview on his Oochie Wally verse....but I get it...we need more prominent southern podcasts and publications for nikkas to get their proper respect.

I think B-High is legit, but he don't get them A-List types for whatever reason...

From the business standpoint, I understand drink Champs, but as a huge fan of Cash Money and Southern Music, a nikka like Nore won't do them justice...
