He's still a decent player and a good teammate that can help the younger guys.

I thought he was finished but you could do a lot worse than Manu Ginobili as your 2nd/3rd guy off the bench.

As it stands they're going into the season basically with Mills and Murray at the point. It wouldn't surprise me if Manu sees more minutes than usual at PG just because he's more of a floor general than either of them -- at least early on and until Parker returns in January.

Better be for the minimum  Ain't no time for legacy contracts anymore :to:
If Vince Carter is getting 8M from the Kings, I'm not sure Manu should get any less than that.

To be clear, 8M would be a fair deal since Manu earned 14M last year (tho just 2.8M the year before)

We let Simmons walk for manu :grippingafrancis:

One of my favorite playes but you don't win titles giving 40 year old men 15 minutes a game :grippingafrancis:
Simmons is at best a 6th man that you'd have to commit many years to.

Manu is a veteran presence that comes cheap for 1 year and still leaves you with cap flexibility for what will be a monster Free Agency period next summer.

LeBron James and Avery Bradley :ohhh:
The Spurs will probably have the money to offer 2 max deals next summer.

I don't think 2 max deals sounds like a "Spurs" move, however.

Avery Bradley almost certainly isn't a max player. You also have to wonder if the Spurs would invest significant money in Bradley when Bryn Forbes seems like a Bradley-light player and he's already on the roster (yes Bradley is much better defensively & in rebounding but is the cost worth it?) To be clear I think he should be pursued, but not at a max deal.

But you have to think Lebron will be heavily pursued. There just aren't enough talented teams that are a fit for him. Obviously GS is out. So is Houston. And LAL may be too young at the moment.

They'll throw feelers out at Westbrook but he doesn't seem like a guy who would play in Pop's system.
