But if the league fixed it one time for New York, surely they would fix it again, no?
What other conspiracies do you believe about the NBA?
:lolbron:

BTW, I find that entire 1985 draft to be interesting.

Chris Mullin went 7th.
Detlef Schrempf went 8th.
Charles Oakley went 9th.
Karl Malone went 13th. That's surprising.
Joe Dumars went 18th.

And Mario Elie was the 160th pick! (out of 162 players taken) in the 7th round. Elie had an 11 year career. Not bad for an Almost Mr. Irrelevant.
:ehh:

Every Cavs #1 pick was planned, no way you can convince me otherwise. First was to get the hometown kid, second was to make up for lebron leaving, and the next two were to rebuild the franchise to attract lebron for a return. Three #1 picks in four seasons, in a lottery…gtfoh

its the only non-gambling nba conspiracy I believe

Not a draft thing but why did the NBA veto that CP3 trade again? Like shyt was completely out in the open league meddling with no repercussions

League owned the Hornets at that time - some of the other owners called up Stern and raised hell that the trade made the Lakers too good so they pulled the plug.

NBA won't approve Chris Paul trade to Lakers
“The proposed deal would have sent Lamar Odom from the Lakers to New Orleans and Pau Gasol from the Lakers to Houston. The Rockets also had agreed to send forward Louis Scola, shooting guard Kevin Martin, point guard Goran Dragic and a first-round draft choice to New Orleans.”

Had it gone down, the Lakers wouldn’t have been much better. Gaining Paul but losing Odom and Gasol would have been bad.

I mean maybe Odom was already on his way out but Gasol was still more valuable and carried the front court better than Bynum.

CP3 and Kobe would have been a great back court but the Lakers would have lacked depth and experience everywhere else. Probably 2nd round playoff exit just the same.

I do believe the Ewing conspiracy. I also believe the only reason Stern didn't do it again with the Knicks is because they weren't awful enough to get it to a believable lottery win for his liking. Like they would always be the 8th worst team and too much of a jump to get number one. However, if he was in charge for the Zion draft where the Knicks were awful enough where people can believe they attained legit lottery win, ping pong balls would be acting funny when they were picked :lolbron:
