Starting on August 27, you'll be able to advance purchase Pack 1, Pack 2, or the Pack 1 + Pack 2 Bundle either through the Shop section* in Mario Kart 8 (as shown) or Nintendo eShop.
Those who advance purchase both packs can begin using the Yoshi and Shy Guy characters immediately

You will be able to download DLC when it becomes available. Pack 1 will be available in November 2014, and Pack 2 will be available in May of 2015

You can cancel your advance purchase by contacting Nintendo Customer Service before the first DLC pack is released.

Both packs combined require more than 2.0 GB of storage space. An external USB hard drive may be required to download this software from the Nintendo eShop. To learn more about storage options, click here.

Mario Kart 8 DLC can be downloaded only in regions where the Nintendo eShop is available.

This is DLC done right. It makes other game dlc look like a joke.

I'm ecstatic about the dlc. :wow:

Paying for some DLC 9 months in advance?
:what:

MK8 isn't something I'll be putting down anytime soon as it's infinitely replayable. It ain't like those season passes where you pay for unknown content coming down the line.

and it's only $12 breh, not $40, that's already on top of the free game the title came with. There's no real issue here. You seem to always try to nitpick something non M$ related, relax.

May is damn near a year after the release of the initial game.

Yeah, I don't get it. shyt should have game 2.5 months after release.

I have no problem with it, as like last gen ill be playing mk8 for a long ass time, so i aint mad if they freshen things up in may :manny:

:scusthov: I got better things to do with the backlog on my Wii U. I play Mk8 like COD--when I am absolutely bored and want to jump on a game for like 15 minutes.

Eh, I still think they are taking way too damn long. Mk8 resparked a lot of interest in the Wii U; they should have been pumping out this content a lot sooner. It would have helped sell more games.

I understand, wish it was closer to the release date, but i cant argue with new tracks to a game that doesnt get old to me personally

Mario Kart games tend to have crazy longevity. People are still buying Mario Kart on the 3DS and Mario Kart Wii sold 1 million copies just last year and in the Wii's heyday that game stayed on the top 10 NPD charts for a year and a half.
