Former Clinton supporter Mark Cuban meets with Steve Bannon
Ardent Hillary Clinton supporter Mark Cuban met with President-elect Donald Trump's soon-to-be chief strategist Steve Bannon at a swanky bar in Midtown Manhattan Tuesday afternoon.
A photo obtained by TMZ showed the two chatting at a window-side table at the King Cole Bar inside the upscale St. Regis hotel, which is just a few blocks from Trump Tower.
The photo appears to show the two having coffee or tea, and Bannon has a small nondescript notebook in front of him on a round table.
It was not immediately clear what the mismatched duo discussed during the sit-down and Trump's transition team wouldn't immediately return a request for comment from the Daily News.
A St. Regis employee only said "no comment" when asked about Bannon and Cuban's alleged meeting, and a King Cole bartender couldn't confirm to a News reporter whether the two had met.
Even though Cuban has never missed a chance to blast Trump for perpetuating racism and ignorance, he doesn't seem to have taken too much of an issue with Bannon peddling in alt-right and white supremacist ideologies.
In October, Cuban said on MSNBC that he's "done business" with the former Breitbart News executive without providing any further details.
The Dallas Mavericks owner frequently derided Trump as "clueless" and "ignorant," but has praised Bannon as "smart" and once credited him with inventing the "rigged" election-tactic that the President-elect frequently employed during the tail end of his campaign.
"Steve Bannon is smart. Far far smarter than trump. Trump lives in the moment. Steve will have a plan," Cuban tweeted in August after the alt-right figurehead had been appointed Trump's campaign CEO.
Before Cuban began backing Clinton, he expressed support for the idea of Trump running as a political outsider. And the unofficial meeting with one of Trump's top Cabinet picks certainly raises questions about whether Cuban might in fact be looking to suck up to the man he once said only gets "stupider before your eyes."
