WHY REVOLUTION SHOULD START WITH KNOWLEDGE
This is Mark Hughes..A man who picked up his AR15 and set out to send a message... and below is Micah Johnson,
Another Black man who also picked up a rifle and headed to Dallas to send a message as well
The issue that sparked the protest was the killing of a legally armed Black man (Philando Castile)who had been murdered by a fearful policeman ...The message Mark wanted to send the world and the nation was that a black man could carry a lethal weapon and not harm anyone.
It was a brilliant idea..the media would carry pictures of a Black man carrying a weapon that could have mowed down dozens yet no one got harmed...so the question would be why the police killed Philando for a pistol yet this man has proved they had nothing to fear.
But fate would not be so kind and Mark would find himself in danger that very evening and surrendering himself and his weapon to save his own life,He sat through hours of detention and questioning and was finally released unharmed but unarmed as well.
It would be Micah Johnsons message that would be heard that day..Micahs murderous shots would turn a day of reflection into tragedy,he single handedly dismantled the protest ,Changed the conversation and the very image of the police force into besieged Heroes.I wont focus on the obvious immorality of what Micah did..enough people have done that.
I want to focus on the the messages that were lost.First he ended the protest.
Second Micah affirmed the very idea that an armed black man is someone to fear, someone who will shoot indiscriminately, someone to be watched carefully because he cant be trusted.
Yet Ironically Micah is some kind of cult hero to many aspiring misguided Black militants..his picture and Dashiki are peppered all over social media and forums along with sickening praise and admiration.
Mark hughes image on the other hand is still only found on news websites....often under the words "suspect"
what a shame.....

who said anything about negotiations...I'm talking PR ....see this is exactly why I say the revolution need to start in the library ...not the dashiki store or the gun store
nothing I have one myself...it was a metaphor for superficial activism
