I'm not saying I want him as a coach on my squad, but he's done some things for that franchise. One thing I don't hear him get credit for which I think is underrated is his ability to develop young talent. Remember how limited klay used to be. Look how much improvement he's made. The job he's done with curry is remarkable. Curry when he first came into the league was looking like a undersized combo guard who made bad decision with th bqll on floor and in clutch moments. He wasnt progressing under Keith smart after transition from being coached by Nellie. He's developed the youngins in GS ( klay, steph, Green, udol) as well anybody could where they are or were big contributors whenever they got in the floor. So in the grand scheme of things, that's the most critical thing you could ask of a coach whose coming into inherit a pretty young team cuz if he doesn't develop steph and klay the way he does then GS is treadmill team at best and then hey abbé to question what direction they have to go from there.

So when u take into consideration he's done a marvelous job at development you have to give him a chanc long term. A lot of coaches with more experince have been brought into the same situation as Jackson ( Westphal,Byron Scott, Maurice cheeks with the pistons, Adelman with the twolves,) and haven't been able to do what does.

Jackson has defined role for his players. He motivates and liberates them with that role. Give them the freedom in that role to flourish. A lot of ppl criticize him and say if thibs or pops had this team but it's unfair to compare him to them cuz he came in with inexperince but his squad has progressed every season where as I said earlier in the post many coaches in the predictament with equal talent on the roster hasn't done as well as him.

The warriors have also develop a defensive culture under mark Jackson too which if u remember nellienera defense wasn't even a thought for the warriors and the solid wasn't too away from when Jackson made his debut.!

there's no denying he has done a great job developing curry. helping him become a more pure point guard. he was very raw when he first came in the league. He's a players coach. the type people wanna play for. but i see a lot of negatives too. i see a man that doesnt have a system. a man that has trouble drawing up plays after timeouts. a man that has trouble assembling a coaching staff. does he fear his job security? jackson likes to hire yes men so he doesnt feel threatened. im only going by articles ive read but when u dont get along with malone and then you reassign scal, there's an internal problem here

I don't blame him for having yes men. Black coaches don't have the job security that other do in the league. Look at what happen to Lionel Hollins.

Overrated coach who will wear at his welcome by next season at the best...dude does not seem to have any conception of lineups are drawing up plays...every game that curry and thompson don't shoot the lights out in the playoffs is a game they lose by 10 or me...

Dude also ruined Harrison Barnes career by giving Iggy all his minutes...

Iggy snitching to him while he still played for Denver is shady as hell to...

But as a Spurs fan I hope he stays...the longer he is there the longer this team is just first round fodder

Barns was already ruined. He was just overhyped. He's a flawed player. Y'all just refused to see it.

The NBA is the one league where black coaches don't really have a problem getting hired. This is a terrible excuse.

Jackson's not a very good coach. Curry's come along, but Klay has not. If he's not hitting his jumper, he's worthless. With the talent on that team, there's no reason they should be two games from being out of the playoffs. Give Pop or Thibs that roster and they have the best record in the league. Switch Doc and Jackson and you can change their places in the standings as well, probably even more.

GS is better defensively this year, but they have no offensive structure. It's basically LeBron-ball from the Cleveland days in Oakland with Steph as LeBron.
