Honestly - I come from East L.A., a couple blocks away from Skid Row in the early-mid 1980s.
I’ve had my lifetime of seeing drugs, the effect of them, and the people who sell them.
I had no desire to watch any shows that feature them heavily - especially (a) romanticized fiction and
(b) from the vantage point of White folks.

Like - I’m the kind of guy who watches movies and goes “what a minute, that doesn’t make any sense…”
and I imagine that’s all I would do watching shows like these.

He was also in Ace Ventura Pet Detective.

I never watched it tho.

My father was a private investigator who specialized in missing animals and I knew Jim Carey's depiction wouldn't be accurate.

I hear you. Breaking Bad doesn’t focus on selling the drugs but it’s more about manufacturing the drugs. The people worst affected by it are the main cast members. You watch them go from broke to running the world to slowly self destructing. It’s deeper than you might think it is …
