For those who weren't around then, Marley started the show "In Control" on WBLS back in 1989 after Mr. Magic left the station. It came on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 to midnight, competing with Chuck Chillout and Red Alert on 98.7 Kiss FM. In Control show introduced the world to legendary producer/DJ Pete Rock. Clark Kent, and I believe also Kevy Kev, would DJ on the show Friday nights. And Pete Rock would DJ on the show Saturday nights. Crazy thing is the show only lasted about a year (Ending around 90). But the impact of it has stood the test of time.

Some of ya'll don't understand. In Control raised the bar HIGH for mixshows on NY radio. Being 11 years old hearing Clark Kent juggle break beats or a young Pete Rock cutting up EPMD's So Watcha Sayin :ohlawd:
