Maybe I am reading the story wrong, but according to the story he is not technically an illegal immigrant. He is lawfully in the Country and he had a work permit that wasn't renewed.
Exactly, he was waiting to renew his permit and since the Trumpets are fukking around with the government it wasn’t renewed so he took an early retirement
