I prefer any director to cast whoever he deems appropriate for any role. I actually love this about directors like Scorsese & Tim Burton. I know I am watching a white movie when I check them out. They delve deeply into that experience. The truth is in the dialogue & characters. Don’t cast a black actor for a part that you dreamt up from experience. The same applies to Spike Lee. Who am I to tell him he needs to cast a white person for any particular role? The most deplorable characters in Taxi Driver are the white people
