Marvel Games has partnered with Telltale Games for a future console and PC series coming in 2017.

"We've been busy," Executive Producer Jones said before announcing the partnership. "It takes a long time to find the right partner. We have one special game we're excited about."

Jones celebrated the quality of Telltale's narrative, which meets Marvel's standards for storytelling.

Marvel's new games strive for authenticity above all else -- the correct powers for the right heroes wearing the proper costumes. "Sexy" games are important to Marvel Games, too. "If it doesn't turn heads, if it doesn't get you excited to talk with your friends, it's not a Marvel game. It has to command attention," Jones explained, citing existing games like Spider-Man Unlimited and Contest of Champions on mobile as defining examples.

Telltale's previous efforts, including The Walking Dead, Tales From the Borderlands, and The Wolf Among Us, all feature striking and beautiful comic book-style art.

"Announced this evening in San Francisco, we're excited to reveal an all-new partnership with the incredible team at Marvel Entertainment," the developer wrote. "We'll be teaming up on the development of an upcoming Telltale game series project set to premiere in 2017!"
