Y'all are completely misunderstanding why Max was brought up in the first place

Max is known for being the hyper excited guy. Nobody's saying he's a Phil Jackson mind of fighting games but he knows enough, more than he's getting credit for in here. The point is if he's gone sour on Tokon, that's says a lot. How you lose the excited about everything guy? And this is in the overall context of just about everyone turning on Tokon

And "just a fanboy" is reductive. There are nikkas on here with deep experience and knowledge that know what they're talking about. I've played and beaten some of y'all heroes If nikkas are raising issues with the game it might be worth consideration

I’m literally talking about the people who thinks his opinions are law. I’m not mad or getting defensive at anyone for sharing their opinions/criticisms about a video game lol.

Yes, it's fine to voice honest critiques and suggestions, if you've given the game a fair shot. Problem is, folks are writing it off without having actually done that and just parroting folks like Max. As I said, folks be doing too much before a game is even out now.

Seriously who doesn't want a new marvel IP fighting game to work? 6 months wasn't that long ago we all remember how excited nikkas was that his shyt got announced. Hell I remember how excited nikkas were to get into the beta just two weeks ago. It's not like nikkas just woke up and decided to be like "Nah Tokon sucks lol"

And I think the timing is perfect here because the reception of that ugly ass Avatar game is a perfect juxtaposition. Who expected the weekend to end with the flash looking Avatar game taking some of Tokon's shine? That's a point worth addressing

Again I'm seeing way more nikkas having legit criticism than I'm seeing nikkas hate just to hate. I keep bringing up 2XKO because I watched nikkas criticism get drowned out by "HERE GO THE HATERS YAPPIN" and now Riot damn near paying people to play that game

I'm not saying that everyone that has played the beta don't have any legit criticisms. There's always legit criticism to be had in anything, even in great things/people/etc. I'm saying there's those that have them and doom glaze based off that alone, over fixating on them and then influencing others to ape those without even trying it out for themselves. You even alluded to this yourself earlier with the whole "sometimes you can just tell" angle. Judgment without trial, literally.

I think the strength of this lies in it's simplicity.

Ultimately I think this game will end up best being played as more of a fun party game than something super competitive. There is some novelty about being able to create a team and very quickly learn how to mash buttons and do a bunch of cool shyt on screen.

That said, I personally don't think I'd enjoy grinding the game in its current state. In long sessions with a ton of matches it just feels like wild momentum swings back n forth with a ton of cutscenes inbetween. Neutral/footsies feel like a complete afterthought its like you spend 10% of your total match time in neutral otherwise yall are dogwalking each other back and forth thru walls or playing pong on the X-man stage. Fun in spurts but not something I can play for hours at a time
