I never played those dragon ball games of the mid/late-2010s through 2020s, but from what i saw/read it was basically the same retelling of the anime but with some "what-if" scenarios to spice up the same ol regurgitated plotlines.

So i'll be curious if or how they handle a story mode for this game; If they'll try to flesh it out like the injustice games did or if it'll just be pretty forgettable transitions

My base roster prediction

This would be extremely fire

I just think its an L at this point to not put Nightcrawler in a fighter.

Man, this is what I want.

Like I said earlier though, because it’s Arc System Works I can see things like Puppet Characters being a part of this. I’m looking toward to playing the next true puppet character like Carl. Been looking for that for a long ass time.

This to me is still what peak fighting game control and mastery looks like by the Carl player Ryusei (although dude seems obnoxious)

Dude made it nearly a 1P game vs the greatest Blazblue player of all-time.

Seeing some character playing like Nyne the Phantom would be great and makes sense.

I still want to see a charge-based puppet character. That’d probably melt some minds to play.

:dahell:Nikka I should neg you for this entire post

I will never forget watching that top 8 in 2017:snoop: I wasn't familiar with Carl so seeing that abomination go down for the first time was :scust:

":dahell: so this nikka just don't get a turn??? Nah this shyt is wrong mane"

And you want a puppet character in this Marvel shyt :scust:

Marvel and marvel vs games are truly their own beast. A marvel vs game typically includes, tags, assist, air combo, high low mix ups and at least 1 character with a 8 way movement/non universal movement opinions plus everything you mentioned. The games are typically light on universal mechanics outside of like a push block and some over the top usage for meter.

Anime games do include a lot of what you mentioned but typically aren't tag, and most of the cast have the same options as everyone else. Box dashing, spot dodge, some universal core mechanic.

1)

You kinda just proved my point though.

The vs game while similar the differences make them play completely different.

If I'm just playing an anime game.

Everyone has a box air dash
Typically no tag or assist feature.
Launching characters for air combos is typically "dramatic" and controlled
There is typically a roll or spot dodge
There is typically a plenty for not playing aggressively.

Vs games
Movement options are super varied, 8 way, wave dashing, air dashing, no dash, teleport or giant size character.
Typically there are tags or assist or both.
Launching a character is going to be a standard form of damage with the damage and combo restrictions following the same general rules as the rest of the game.
Push blocking is present
Chip damage, lock down, zoning, and lame play are encouraged.
I actually agree with most of this, which is why I'm not that impressed with this new Marvel

It looks like Strive with Avengers, and I think Strive is boring as fukk:russ:

Another major issue I have with Arcsys and anime games in general is the limited combo creativity. After about the first month you've seen every combo you're going to see for the next 7 years:mjlol: It's popular to shyt on Capcom but one thing no one is seeing Capcom on is combo creativity. 13 years later and nikkas still coming up with new combos in Umvc3. Nikkas still coming up with new combos in SF4:russ: Arcsys hasn't given me any reason to believe they're gonna change in that regard

Spot on, GGXX was like the perfect spot they should have continued to refine in, air combos and combos in general were cool and varied.

The dust launcher was pretty niche for most of the cast and typically use to catch people who were asleep crouching.
