Nobody plays XX breh:mjlol: even if that's true that still doesn't change the fact that Capcom is the king of combo creativity by miles

I'll even grant that SF6 combos are repetitive. But every version before that the combo creativity and variety is :wow:

pre strive GG had insane combo and route trees. Blazblue is comically combo centric to the point of annoyance tbh.

I'm always hearing this from anime players, but then I watch matches and it's the same combos they've always been. I'm not seeing these examples where new combos are coming out the woodwork compared to Capcom games

This game is 30 years old

14 year old game

I know nikkas hate SF5 but you can't front on the combos:wow: what other fighting game has the equivalent of someone like Zeku?:wow:

If your baseline is strive or dbzf sure but older titles definitely had a large amount of self expression as far as what combos you wanted to do.

Im not trying to compare them to umvc, im
Just saying that yes. There is deep combo tech in anime games.

Hell go watch a uni seth match. Char legit has some of the hardest execution out there :dead:

All of these shyts are insanely hard and basically could branch off into other shyt if you wanted

Obviously there is no beef; I generally respect your opinion. However, you have me absolutely fukked up here, family 😅😂. If you’re going to use MVC combos to make your case, I’d have wanted to see Zak Bennett, or Priest, or even cats like Joker who use at least one untraditional character and really find success. Joe is definitely a high execution monster, but he rarely got used optimally; Dieminion made me wish that cat never existed with his overly defensive play style.

If you need combo variety in Anime games, peep Nage’s Evo Faust runs in Xrd, Bang combos from Blazblue, Omitto’s Johnny, Lost Souls Elphelt, etc. in addition to Seth being crazy in UNIST, there’s Vatista that’s a charge character that also uses negative edge buttons for optimal combos. The execution levels are insane. Kizzy Kay had a whole series during lockdown where he would do the trials for a bunch of games… by far, the toughest ones for him, even as a consistent top 8 finisher with multiple characters, were anime fighters. I’m not here to argue about their viability from a world-building or popularity standpoint, but I just think you may have been watching the wrong stuff. Respect

I'm not saying that tho. I'm not saying that anime has no creativity. I'm saying that Capcom is the leader in the combo creativity sandbox. Especially if we get into the ratio of combo creativity and its application to real matches

Ironically you posted under night and it's one of the reasons I love that series compared other anime titles:russ:

Also ironically the last two DBFZ patches opened the game up a lot in terms of combo creativity and it actually killed the game :francis: them nikkas really wanted to keep doing that same bum ass two combos that they've always been doing so they called the new patches kusoge and dropped it :snoop:

I'm familiar with all of those names. I only dabbled in Xrd(with my weak ass Zato:mjlol:) but I watched a lot of it. I think it's a great game . I have clear Capcom bias but I'm not on some fukk anime shyt:russ:

The point in my posting the Joe combo is the fact that that video is 6 months old. I could post plenty more but wanted to to be succinct. My overall point is the volume of new shyt that comes out of Capcom games over the years is :wow:

Bringing it back to the center when I look at this Tokon shyt and see Strive with Avengers I can't help but consider the strong possibility that it'll be as limited as Strive is:manny:. I call Umvc3 the goat because it's open in so many ways that most fgs are not. Especially in this current era

I see a situation like this one at 34 seconds and wonder if Tokon will even come close :wow:

I would of turned into Sanford quick off that shyt. What you mean you had enough time to OTG my assist, launch, tridash OTG my active character.
and then level 3.

I have no illusion that the game will be pretty limited in combos especially with this new participation trophy ass game development shyt. Can't have folks feeling too bad that they can't do complicated shyt in these games. Plus all the complaints of combos turning the game into a 1 player game and so on and so forth

I olayed Seth in Unist. Was pretty good too. Tried to pick him up in Uniclr and naw I must be too old cuz that dude routes are insane. One frame links, reverse dps, delays…just in his bnb :dead:

And my execution is generally crazy so Im sure I could do them after a while but mannnn I aint have 4 months to learn that shyt again

Slick greasy dirty mackin Arcsys out here like Joe on some
