Golden Corral was always a walking time-tomb to me. Their own website says you could get into a fight there. Then again, I'm not sure if that was their official website. To add to it, the pandemic has caused poorer food quality, plus they've cut back on certain items. For example, you'd be lucky to find one that has ice cream in the locations in my area. And if you do, they only have vanilla, or they only have chocolate...but never both.
There's three in my area. The first location have waitress's who purposely over-wait on you to get on your nerves, which is really harassment, and not good service. In other words, they purposely disturb you from enjoying your meal, and people are too scared to complain. I mean since it's a buffet, they don't need to be in your face every two minutes asking you if everything's ok, when all they do is bring you refills, which is usually no more than one. They even harass you when you buy a large to-go cup, which cost extra. I actually see customers cringe every time a waitress walks by them. And it's always some overweight, over the hill waitress doing this. But they don't do this to White men, especially if he's alone, and old enough to get the early-bird discount. But they do it to Black people regardless of their age, especially men. And they don't even hire young decent looking waitress's, especially at the location I've been talking about, which happens to be the McDonough, Georgia location. And if you do go to a location, and get a young decent looking waitress, which is very very seldom, she'll wait on you once, and stay clear from you...so what else is new. But of all three locations, this location does have the better quality food. Btw, this location has the most White customers, although I'm seeing more and more Blacks, and I mean a lot more than at first.
The second location is the Blacker location. The food isn't quite as good as the first location, probably because it's more crowded. They don't hire young good looking waitress's here either (they did hire one recently), but McDonough takes the cake when it comes to unattractive waitress's. But at least most of the waitress's here don't harass you like they do at the McDonough location. And although the customers can be hit or miss at McDonough, especially when it's a day when there's a lot of White people, the customers at this location are a little more hood. I mean most buffet lines start from right to left (like fast food chains), or they chose one direction or the other, and stick with it. But these fools can't seem to make up their minds, or I guess they like to play dumb when they see me get in line, and start a line coming in the opposite direction, causing a possible head on collision. If one of us don't step around the other, it may lead into a confrontation. This is probably what started the fight in that Pennsylvania location. If it did, then I'd have to place half of the blame on the franchise. I don't know about now, but in the DMV, buffets had ropes or bars, with an arrow pointing in the direction the line suppose to go. They don't do that down here in this part of the Atlanta metro, and I find it retarded. I mean if they don't want to put up ropes or bars, then at least have an arrow pointing customers in the right direction. That's just plain common sense.
The third location have more professional waitress's and cashiers, except the White ones. And they do have one or two good looking waitress's, but the food is terrible.
I tried the fourth location for the first time recently, which was the Decatur location. They need to shut down this location all together. The food was even worst than the third location, plus they had three or four vegetable trays that stayed empty. The cashier and the waitress's were negative. Nobody even brought me my plates when I sat down. I had to wave down this one Black waitress, who was about to walk right pass me, knowing I was sitting their waiting too long. She did give me one of her plates. She was the only waitress who didn't look too bad. I thought she was going to be my waitress. When I came back from getting my food, I heard this older White waitress behind me, asking if everything was all right. I guess she was suppose to had been my waitress all along, and the Black waitress felt she was doing me a favor by giving me one of her plates. But I shouldn't have had to pull her over from walking right past me, without her at least telling me a waitress would be with me soon, or something. I wounded up ignoring the White waitress the whole time, and I left no tip, which is very, very seldom. I know the White lady was old, but I had had enough at that point. The other locations, as sorry as they are, will at least give you a plate at the cashier, or bring a stack of plates to your table in less than a minute. Or if you put your receipt on a table, but decide to go to the restroom before you sit down, they'll have a stack of plates at your table before you return...but a lot of times, that's probably because they think you're going to get a supervisor because you don't see any waitress bringing you your plates. In other words, they may have intended to keep you waiting too long as well in some cases. Anyway, If they have that much trouble respecting a brother like me, who meets the age requirement for a senior discount, then I don't respect their senior staff either when they don't do their jobs. That day is over.
