If the thread title is true, than this is a trash year in Hip Hop

Guess we have completely different tastes homie. I think Teflon Don and Rich Forever are his best two. Deeper Than Rap after that. GFID and Mastermind are close to me - Mastermind is definitely more consistent, but, GFID had 4-5 songs that I bumped every damn day for the rest of that year, even though it had a lot more trash. Mastermind is an easier listen, but it's also easier to ignore.
It's all subjective though
See I thought the R&B tracks on Teflon Don helped balance it out - the sequencing, IMO, made it so much more digestible. Plus, they were actually good songs. I wasn't in love with GFID as a whole, but my favorite songs on it, I bumped more than anything else that year. I'll give you that Mastermind is pretty consistent throughout, but it's a gift and a curse to me - it's solid from beginning to end, but there aren't any highs that really get me as excited as the highs on his other albums.mastermind is his most consistent and best produced album, imo. teflon don had some great highs, but some of those r&b tracks ruined the album. GFID was dope, but a few of the joints were lazy. DTR and mastermind are almost tied, but mastermind is more consistent. it's his most perfect album. rich forever is great, but you can tell it's a mixtape.
but like you said, it's all subjective. at the very least, i think an argument can definitely be made that ross has the most impressive discography of any rapper right now in the past decade. the only two artists that might be up there with him are jeezy and ye. nobody else has a discography as good as ross.

DittoI consider myself a pretty big Ross fan and even I haven't fukked wit it after those first 2 weeks.
Far from classic.
But back to the original topic, I don't think it's a classic for the classic rules I spoke earliermastermind is his most consistent and best produced album, imo. teflon don had some great highs, but some of those r&b tracks ruined the album. idk if I'd say 12-13. But MMIV, Sixteen, Amsterdam, So Sophisticated, Presidential, Ten Jesus Pieces, Triple Beam Dreams, Ashamed, and *maybe* Pirates or 3 Kings. Those two aren't great for me personally, but I wouldn't mind them. I think that would be closer to Teflon Don levelThere's some wack shyt on that album but if you take the deluxe edition you could make a 12-13 track album that's near classic.
Actually that album has some of my favorite Ross joints period.
So Sophisticated is one of the hardest tracks of all time. Ross SWALLOWS that beat.
