Cleveland Cavaliers restricted free agent guard Matthew Dellavedova and the Milwaukee Bucks have reached an agreement on a four-year, $39 million deal, league sources informed cleveland.com.
He made $1.1 million last season. Rival executives anticipated Dellavedova receiving a floor salary of $8 million.
Once the Bucks submit the signed offer sheet, the Cavaliers will have three days to match or let him walk. It is unlikely Cleveland matches and it is unknown at this juncture when Dellavedova will sign his new deal.
Players can't sign contracts until July 7.
The deal contains no options and is without a trade kicker, I'm told. Bucks head coach Jason Kidd was seen scouting Dellevadova during The Finals. ESPN first reported a Dellavedova deal was near.
Dellavedova, 25, is coming off a season in which he produced career-high numbers of 7.5 points, 4.4 assists and shot the three-ball at a 41-percent clip.
The Cavaliers selected Oakland University point guard Kay Felder with the 54thpick in last week's NBA Draft as an insurance policy. They paid $2.4 million to acquire the pick from the Atlanta Hawks.
