I think they need to let go Carlyle go. Not because he's outstay his welcome but because his lineups and minute distribution has a delicate tension between the old and new. I know they don't have the talent to compete but they still have Dirk starting and Noel on the bench. Curry stuck out in that starting lineup too. He's too limited a player to be starting.
Smith and Ferrell should be the backcourt. Barnes (pf), Mathews(sf) and Noel should be the front court. It's the most versatile starting lineup they have with scoring, defense, you and experience and most importantly speed(and athleticism which I know Carlyle seems to hate on the court) with a punch of the bench. With Dirk, McRoberts,curry and barea off the bench.
But you just Carlyle goin go with his same generic lineup of Dirk, Barnes, Mathews, DSR and some vet guard. For such a great coach( I think Carlyle is the best coach in the league), his lineups are stubborn as hell because he doesn't want to tank so it seems like he trying to mix his philosophy and direction with the front office direction when making his lineups

He need to retire so they can build with a new philosophy. Carlyle know that people want to see Dirk in that starting five, when he should've retired 3-4 years ago. Dallas needs a new face of the team to build around.
