The thing analysts need to understand is that lower tier players have realized they can hide behind stats to defend their legacies instead of letting defining moments of their careers speak for themselves. Like people mentioned in the Robinson vs Olajuwon thread, Olajuwon is seen as a greater player than Robinson even though their stats are comparable because he dominated Robinson when stakes were the highest. Guys with pretty stats like Harden, Westbrook and Lebron (to a lesser extent) mythos fail compared to Kobe and Jordan for this reason.
