Mia Goth will be back and reprising one of the two roles she played in X. It follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980’s Los Angeles. The film hasn’t yet been shot but is on a fast track after being greenlit by A24. It all stems from X, which launched Goth as the survivor of a porn shoot that goes awry when their hosts in rural Texas see what they are doing and the cast and crew ends up fighting for their lives. West wrote the script.

MaXXXine — the third film in the X horror series — has set the cast that will join franchise star Mia Goth in the Ti West feature.

Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Giancarlo Esposito and Kevin Bacon are set for the feature that will start shooting in this month in Los Angeles.

I enjoyed the first film. X was more like a normal slasher but it did every slasher movie trope well. The sequel Pearl is more of a character study and Mia Goth give a great preformance.

The casting seems great. I don't know if Maxine will be the villian in this movie but I doubt it. Bobby Canavale was a great villian in Boardwalk Empire, Kevin Bacon is a horror vet and villian, and Giancarlo Esposito is the best villian out.

X was dope. Haven’t seen the prequel yet; definitely gonna check it and this one when I come across them.

I recently watched X and Pearl. Kinda slept on X for ages because the trailer didn't look interesting but my god the movie is really dope. And I thought Pearl was significantly better. Both films pay homage to different eras of film well without feeling like imitations. The director also did House Of The Devil which I saw long ago and enjoyed but felt it was too imitation-like of 80s slashers or Satanic panic films.

Pearl was especially great. Love how it felt like multiple genres mixed together before leaning more into the horror stuff.

I couldn't get into Pearl like I did with X. I loved X so ill give this a shot. Mia Goth has been in alot of dope shyt, started with A Cure for Wellness

Pearl felt more like a psychological horror to me. The violence isn't as scary as the shyt she's actually dealing with. Spending your youth isolated caring for a disabled father and having to obey a mother who resents your existence sound like hell. Then the one chance you have of getting out of that situation disappears and it's not certain it will happen.

Pearl's monologue still makes me uncomfortable as hell.
