At times I “wake” up in a dream, but at that point the dream kinda breaks down before I can do anything

One trick you can try when you wake up in the dream is to turn around quickly a few times within the dream. I used to do it as a kid when I noticed the dream was starting to end. The more you lucid dream, the more you’ll gain coherence and stability. So just be patient with yourself.

Oh, and another trick is to stay mentally lowkey about knowing it’s a dream. Go with the flow and have a bit of fun flying. It seems like flying is something everyone has the power to do early on in lucid dreaming.

Edit: Answered, and then later see you fly on command. I would say the next step should be just exploring your immediate environment then. Maybe start asking the figments in your lucid dreams questions. See if you can determine if they are just figments of your own mind, or sentient beings. You may be surpised by what you notice.
