Trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. says several fighters have tried to copy the fighting style of his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr. The most recent fighter to box in a Mayweather-like manner is WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 24KOs). Floyd Sr. says Andre Berto attempted to copy the Mayweather style and suffered heavy consquences in the ring. The vocal trainer expects Broner to suffer the same fate when he faces a real opponent.

"Another one it's going to happen to, as soon as he gets the right man in his face, is Broner. Broner, so far, so good. He's doing it the best of anyone else that's did it. But then, also, he's had stiffs in front of him. He hasn't had no real fighter in front of him, man," Mayweather Sr. told writer David Mayo.

"When he gets somebody real in front of him, he's going to forget all about the roll. The roll won't even be there, believe me. The roll won't be there, none of that other stuff — picking off, catching, rolling — you won't see none of that."

Talks are ongoing for Broner to face Marcos Maidana on November 9th. Maidana would be the toughest and most dangerous opponent of Broner's career.
