I'm a little curious as to what you guys think is the better option. Currently I'm in a Master's Degree program for Strategic Leadership. I choose this path over the MBA for a number of reasons:

-I already have a BBA
-The Strategic Leadership program has a similar curriculum to the MBA. Just much more focus on leadership.
-I didn't have to waste $250 on a stupid entrance exam like the MBA requires.
-The Strategic Leadership program is apparently popular oversees and is gaining traction here.
-The MBA is supposedly dying out a little in fame because people are saying that the MBA program is about processes and technical skills while the Strategic Leadership program focuses on people & leadership.

However the MBA is still more known around the world "the business degree" and I did initially want to go for the MBA. The job outlook for both degrees are the same.

ive always seen mbas as being suited for ppl looking to get into upper management./executive leadership type roles.. i don't think they're a good idea if you don't have a good amount of years of work experience already.
i know a girl at work who got her mba right after her bachelors with no prior work experience, she is doing basic entry level work like any kid right out of college with probably twice the debt
if u look at the coursework for mba programs a lot of the shyt deals with different types of management (obviously), strategy formulation, and so on.. and while having management experience may not be necessary, you certainly won't relate to the course as much as someone with 5-10-15 years experience, and u probably wont have much to contribute in course discussions either.
i'll probably go for an MBA when im older and can have my employer pay for most of it.

Most of the better mba programs I've read about expect you to have 5-7 years of experience, I remember reading one that I felt had outrageous requirements.

Personally a mba is something I'd do for myself not for career advancement.

An MBA is only worth paying for it if it's top 25 and you're looking for access to recruiting opportunities at top firms. Otherwise, just get your employer to pay for it.

True. If you can get into a top 25 program or a regional program that has good placement stats then do it. I got a $60,000 raise just by getting an MBA.
