Early 80s rap in general was trash except for a few songs

Most 80's rap outside of the east coast was kind of corny. ESP. early to mid 80's

Early 80s rap was trash all around let's keep it real.

When cmw and quik came into peak production it was clear there was levels between the originals and dudes like quik and cmw

Hip hop became more than just a kick and a snare
Absolutely not. NYC had some dope 80s shyt. :childplease:
Don't let Planet Rock and Rapper's Delight fool you

This isn't even an opinion its a fact. 99% of early 80s west coast rap is unlistenable

The hate the west got wasn't "east coast bias" the first time most people heard shyt from the west it was deadass the wackest shyt they ever heard in they life
Too short must be the 1%

This stuff yes. Brehs are grouping NWA or at least eventual members as early 80s. Just Dre and Arabian Prince was doing something in 84.

Unless there's a mix up of "early 80s" vs "early" 80s.

It’s a lot of stuff nikkas never heard of

Like dj quiks brother in law Billy couvson

This nikka predates a lot west coast acts

this from 77

He had quik in the studio real early that’s where Quik learned how to turn something out of nothing
