I see it clearly now. But just off the 2 pics from the album...one of which you posted, he looked caucus to me. I figured he was the dude who could afford the equipment or studio time. Maybe engineered.

Nah, slip and dj unknown did that part, they was making a killing djin clubs, had their own albums out and came together and made more money, la was the land of coke during the 80s, all you had to be was decent, you will make a killin at the clubs, thats how alot of legends in la music scene started dre, dj pooh and others.

Unknown worked with ice t, king tee and a bunch of other cats before cmw came to.

Mike, was just a dj, who did the roadium swap meet hustle like, quik, tony a, toddy tee, hi-c, etc

Nah, got a cousin who worked at trax studio and did alot of stuff for techno kut records, techno kuts was a label that put alot of their music out back in the 80s, then in like late 98-early 99, had just turned 10, was over my cousins house we had jus left san fernando, we had to this randand all these cats showed up with all these cameras, then i seen ice t slip, eiht, quik, hi-c, mausberg, mack 10 joe clair unknown and mike t and didnt recognize him off first site and a couple other cats, didnt kno what was goin on then, but i saw dirt bikes and it was alot of dirt bikes and food.

Come to find out after 2-3 weeks later this was 1 of the first time he announced eiht signing to hoo bangin, and it was also the only time quik and eiht squashed the beef on camera.

everybody left, cept unknown, mike t, and they started goin bout back in the day and how they came from house parties gettin 75 bucks the most to producing for million companies.

The old heads around that time knew mike t was black because he had a reputation due to him looking white, like one of a handfull of cats that could goto any hood and just chill with no problems or set trippin.

Everytime I'd go visit or i'd go by whatever studio my cousin was at, it was always 1 of the 2 coming out as i walk in or pull up.

The age old question.. My answer has gone back and forth for years.. But that Growin Up In The Hood has taken the top spot recently and I feel like it's the song that aged the best...

Plus the video was the first time I saw rapper bring them white tees out...

i'm sure we've all heard streiht up menace more, but i'm still siding w/ it. growin up in the hood is a classic too, but that piano loop just can't be fukked with. it's also one of the most perfect introspective tracks i've ever heard. i always said eiht had one of the best production teams behind him, back in the day. it was impossible to throw on an eiht related album and hear wack/average beats. i always wished cmw released another non-explicit album too.
