You need to have the intelligence and aptitude not just ambition. Not anyone can be a software engineer or cyber security analyst.

I half assed highschool and college. 8 years later I'm making well over $75k.

If you cant make a decent wage of $50k - $70k you're lazy and not trying

@Ezekiel 25:17 this is the post you directed towards me. You said if I can't make a decent wage of at least 50k I am lazy.

Well your initial post said you need to have the intelligence and aptitude not just ambition. I was pointing out how you're wrong.

I half assed highschool and college. You can certainly make it on ambition. You dont need to be very intelligent or high aptitude.

Have you made an attempt at learning a new skill?

@Ezekiel 25:17 thank you for clarifying what you were saying. What new skills would you recommend I consider learning?

I could give you suggestions, but it may not be for you becuase i dont know your interests. You can do a trade, join a union. You will get paid on the job with raises every year. In 5 years when you become a journeyman you'll be making $50/hr more or less.

Or you can get a 2 yr degree.

If you want make a positive change you have to form good habits.

You need to put a reminder in your phone, everyday take 30 minutes to research one career. Reddit is also a good place to ask questions.

50k is like minimum wage in New Jersey, but you can at least rent an apartment (studio) and live alone. 70k you’re ok and can save a little each pay check. But I wouldn’t recommend a car note.

And in this economy, those jobs are hard to get. You got ghost postings and positions being filled internally not to mention shytty recruiting and hiring managers. All people care about is self preservation.

not really. You got people making $80,000 and up that's been working in their career for 20 years and get's laid off at 40 or 50. Being over qualified and older can make it harder to bounce back. Especially in this job market. Then you go from salary to hourly out of necessity.
