70's and 80's were wild times. Hella serial killers walking around and more overt racism.

Yall might be romaticising that period.

I don't really believe that. I think the racism has developed to be more economic now.

They quietly keep people away from what they don't want them to have. If you can't afford it you won't have it.

It doesn't take as much force besides the police.

That's why begging for it also won't get it. When they start letting people have it is when it starts to be worth much less.

Black folks as a whole are in a bad position in this country. Depending on the $ that they control is not a good situation.

The things my sister and I were able to do before the age of 10 in the 80s, makes me wanna go back in time and slap both of my parents. Even though it made me who I am now, I couldn't fathom letting my 11 yr old daughter ride the bus across town alone let alone at age 6/7.
walking a mile at 7 yrs old, to and from school. :wow:

Based on stats there were more missing children in the 80s and 90s than today.

Kids are more overweight today though
lets compare missing kids to kids killed, injured in or who experienced a mass shooting at school...rather take my chances with stranger danger

from 1993 to 2013 homicide by guns were cut in half, school shootings included.

Started creeping up in 2014, not sure if it's gotten back to late early 90s levels.

Muthafukkas weren’t kidnapping kids to take them to Disneyland and gift them scholarships.

They were molesting and MURDERING those poor kids.

Add to that Police murdering black men, women, and children with impunity and no social media to capture the savagery.

The onslaught of Crack in the black communities

The 80’s were no safe haven utopia for black people

The most you could argue is that the music/entertainment was better.

I was making $4.50 an hour in the 90s early on.

It may have been less in the 80s for a lot of people.

…unless you sold drugs.
