NY Times review was mild, but it should be a light, enjoyable watch, I saw most of the first episode just now.

As a 90's kid, I remember bits and pieces of that promotion vividly, more so the images, I have those flashbacks of Wednesday night with my homies from the neighborhood, McDonald's trips, and how excited I was as a kid. We had to go to bible study after, but being on your own at McDonalds at like 12? $20? That was living to me lol I would get a spicy chicken, large fry, vanilla shake, and split a 20 pack of nuggets with my friend. This would have been like 97-99, so right in that time frame.

Head of security, it's usually someone like that. There was some other case I read about in NY Times magazine piece, called The Man Who Fixed the Lottery, it was an Iowa state lottery, the scam operated essentially the same way.

I remember folks that worked at McDonalds back in the day were hustling peel off fry bags.
