If you were not part of the conversation in the first place.
I hate those type of paranoid freaks.
So im in the elevator on tuesday with a coworker and one of our field engineers jumps in there with me. Me not having seen dude in over 7 months (he's one of our field engineers and lives in South Africa) we started chatting it up right. So as we're talking and laughing about work related sh!t we worked on together remotely the other dude (who doesnt him) that was in the elevator at the time moves from the back of the elevator to the front of the door and waits for it to open. We all get off on the same floor.
Today i come in and the dude that was in the elevator and some other coworkers are all up getting coffee and free bagels and doughnuts we always get on fridays. I walk in and say what up to everyone and dude gives me this look like
and walks away.
Mind you...I noticed it... but since we dont talk normally it made no difference to me. I dont always respond when people say hello so to me it's no big deal. But then a few minutes later someone else comes and goes:
Them - so what happened with you two yesterday?
Me - huh?
Them - not yesterday.. tuesday or wednesday morning. In the elevator.
Me -
Them - Dude said he was in the elevator and you and ____ were being rude speaking in a different language in front of him
Me - So speaking in a different language is rude now?
Them -Well...
Me - Okay yo. Kodjo and I work together remotely all the time when he's in the field. His english is very hard for me to understand so him being from Senegal i always find it easier for us to communicate in French. Plain and simple. Via email and skype chat we use english. But when actually speaking to eachother, rather than have him struggle with his english all the time we speak french.
Apparently that other freak got his feelings hurt that we didnt include him
