I have two twin nieces that are juniors in high school and they both want to go to some sort of medical school.

One is set on Physical Therapy and the other Dental school.

Is it worth the debt for the doctorate? They are going to get their undergrad tuition free so that'll help.

It helps that undergrad will be free. Save while they're in undergrad. When they're in med school there's options out there to help with the loans. Ex. One of my cousins worked for the Illinois prison system after she finished med school for about 3 or 4 years and they paid off her loans.

you dont go to medical school for either physical therapy or dentistry, for physical therapy all you need is a bachelors and for dentistry you go to dental school which is similar to medical school

im not sure how dental school compares to medical to be honest but overall dental school and medical school is worth it, if that is want you to be

almost all health care fields will make good money, even nursing

but if your neices go into a health, my main advice is to focus on their math, that is where most people stumble

Have you looked into Grants for them?
I was under the impression that grants are rare for grad students.

How tough was it for her working and going to school? Was the work or the school part time?

Physical Therapy assistants only need a bachelors. But from what I've read the actual Physical Therapist require a DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy): http://www.apta.org/PTEducation/Overview/

Physical Therapy assistants only need an associates, which can be completed at a JC. I think @Spliff is a PTA.

Here check it. To be a licensed physical therapist in the US the requirement is to have a doctorate(DPT); which should take about 3 years additional years after being admitted into a program. But this is only after obtaining a degree(any undergraduate degree) with the prereqs filled.

An exception for prereqs is made, if the person graduated with a degree in Bio

Dumbass question.
Why you gotta be so rude :mjlol:

She did the work after she finished school. Kinda like if u work for a company and they pay for you to get your masters. They make you sign a contract to stay with the company for at least 4 or 5 yrs. she still got paid but it wasn't as much she would have made at a regular hospital. But the having no debt pays off.
