I literally just joined today and found a bunch of black social groups (for women, techies, professionals, movies, etc.)
I don't even like going out, but damn if I'm gonna be out, I need to start mingling with black people. I woke up this morning on a mission to do just that. I hope these things don't suck

So I joined this group back when I was single maybe 3-4 years ago: NYC Black & Latino Afterwork Drinks & Networking Group

I referenced it once here but was one of the worst meetups I ever been to. After that I didn't really go to Black specific meetups just left a bad taste in my mouth. There is another Black group that is real cool I forget the name. But it got shut down 2 years back. But back to this one - This one there was literally dudes standing on one side and Women on the other.

I am like this is ridiculous this is not Junior H.S.. There was some buster brown looking nikkas like this on one end:

And some hoes on the other side lookin like:

I remember one of the Busta Browns (Think he was in Real Estate) went over to Shaniqua who I overheard was a Bank Manager she talmbout "Uh I'm not sure your on my level" this was her response to him introducing himself and his friend. I'm like you've got to be kidding me.

I don't pull this shyt out of my ass this is real life. nikkas like @BrothaZay in his Dallas bubble think that what he observes in the Black community in Texas is valid for the rest of the country though

shyt was helpful for me when I moved to where I'm at now. I work from home and knew no one here when I moved outside of my baby momma. Made some friends from it and found some travel partners as well as met a few females. Most importantly just found some people to go out and kick it with.

From what I've seen most groups end up breaking into cliques and doing shyt outside of the meetups and events start dying down.
