Sorry can't give Melo this comment. Also looking back though the "Epsy" speech was needed and I'm glad the brothas went up there and did it, it qualfies more of a "Gesture" because it came and went. What Colin did reached all the way up to the TOP of our government system. The Current President, X Presidents, Both Presidential Canidates, Supreme Court Justices, Many sitting sentors, lawyers, even judges, Players from High School, College and Pro across mutiple sports. His Jersey became a symbol of fighting injustice. Sorry Melo but Keap had the IMPACT and has kept the entire conversation going. Also he has put his money where his mouth is already so he's beyond the symoblisim at this point. He's continuing the protest to keep the conversation going the entire season.
I understand that Melo has done things for the community and has been supportive of Colin. They have even talked in the past but those comments come off a little divisive and condesending to Colin's historic impact. What Colin did wasn't a "Gesture" because Gestures come and go. He sparked a nation wide conversation about police Bruality by being an Athelete. Also Colin has called out White Supremacy and hasn't sugar coated sh!t. The Espy speech was way "Safe" in comparison to what Colin has risked but I'm not mad at them because it was an awards show. I understand White Media loves to take people out of context for agenda but Melo shouldn't of given them the headline. Also having a Basketball Tournment with Black Kids and Police isn't going to stop Race Soliders from killing them. The bottom line:
Colin Kneeling Risking his entire career for Black People causing a nationwide conversation > Epsy Disney Speech.
