MEMPHIS, TN (March 21, 2016) – A Tennessee mother is under investigation after posting a photo on Facebook that many people are calling “disturbing.”
A woman with Facebook username “Jaton Justsilly Jaibabi” posted this picture of two young children in a vehicle, according to WMC. The faces of the children have been blurred, but the picture shows two young children with their mouths and hands duct-taped. The oldest child has tears in her eyes, and the caption reads, “Kids for sale, 45% off because they bad.”
Memphis police say they have opened an investigation. The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services says they have very limited information, but they are doing more research before investigating the family.
Derion King is the cousin of the woman responsible for posting the picture. He messaged WMC, and he says the picture was just a practical joke. “Basically a joke at the moment that people just went overboard about. People make mistakes and that’s what this situation is, a lesson learned. They are safe, unharmed, and loved that’s all it is to it.”
