We NEED the opposite sex much less in first world countries due to being able to provide for more of life's necessities alone, so WANT takes over. And wants have a higher requirements than needs. In short, he believes that to be successful in dating going forward, each sex will have to become more aligned with what the opposite sex wants AND each sex needs to drop the illusion of having infinite choices.

On here at least, there's this really odd fetishization of the 1950s/1960s among some mf's, but for all the complaining about gold diggers, women were even more focused on your wallet back then, you think Myrna Mae chose Earl with the milky eye because he was fat and short? The women I mess with, I meet most of them thru BDSM communities, I want to be around them...a few decades earlier, I doubt I would've been able to afford wasting time, energy, among other things with seedy characters like that
On the other hand, I go to church every sunday, I'm the only young person in the congregation and most of the brehs are older, married, have stable jobs and are of the opinion that single life is detrimental for young people (like me)
I try hearing them out on that end, but idk

I appreciated him bringing up folks romanticizing "The good ol days" where people had to settle for whatever was around.
The downside of course is everything that has come after.
It definitely feels like we are in the middle of a massive transition between what was and what will be the next common sense societal pairing arrangement, whatever that is. I also liked that he didn't have a "(WO)MEN are right, and the other one is wrong!" perspective. This is something that applies to us all universally across ethnicity and nationality as countries become wealthier in per capita GDP.
As I keep saying, humans have outsmarted ourselves as a species.

Nah, I see dudes I went to high school with on socials saying the same shyt it's just the requirements are different. Be looking for a woman who is pretty, fit, submissive, about her business, sane, no kids, single, lady in the streets but a freak in the sheets with a low body count, no baggage, over the age of 30 while being broke and outta shape. There's enough delusion to go around.
