Year #80 my brehs, lets go. Going for #7 this year.

This is the best site to follow camp for those who don't know, if there are others post them. Steeler Depot

Camp started wednesday, no Mike Wallace. But his close folks on the team is saying he'll be in by next monday, we will see. Good to see Kirby back on the sidelines also. Anyways, here are excerpts from the previous 2 days of camp notes
fans-at-camp_original.jpg

Wednesday - Start of training camp

From Dale Lolley,
Mike Wallace was the only no-show for the Steelers as they opened training camp at Saint Vincent College Wednesday.

At this point, Emmanuel Sanders will assume Wallace's starting role and the Steelers will move on.

Traditionally, the team has not negotiated with players who are holding out while under contract, but this situation is a little different.

Wallace has yet to sign his one-year tender offer with the team and is thus not under contract at this time meaning, technically, he's not a holdout.

But he's not a free agent any longer, either, leaving him and the Steelers at an impasse.

His teammates expect Wallace to come into camp no later than the start of next week. We'll see.

At this point, he's really not missing anything. But once the weekend begins, he'll have to play catch up.

@ Six players will open camp on the PUP list, including linebacker James Harrison, who is resting a sore knee.

The other players who will sit out practices early are running back Rashard Mendenhall (knee), nose tackle Casey Hampton (knee), offensive tackle Max Starks (knee), linebacker Jason Worilds (hand) and safety Damon Cromartie-Smith.

Despite being down two outside linebackers - at least for a few days - head coach Mike Tomlin said the team won't sign anyone for depth at the position.

Tomlin said it will be an opportunity for Chris Carter to get more reps

Thursday Camp Notes

Again from Dale since I cant link SteelerDepot
Heath Miller left the Steelers practice this afternoon with a sprained left ankle. It's not considered serious.

Alameda Ta'amu also left with a foot injury. It, too, is not considered serious.

Other than that, the Steelers' practices today weren't a whole lot different than the OTAs. There's still a lot of learning to do with the new offense, which features more throws to the running backs on swing passes and screens than I have seen in my 20 years of covering this team.

Fans should be happy with that.

@ Fans will get their first look at the Steelers Friday afternoon when the team's practice is open to the public. I expect the team to be a little more spirited in that workout. The players seem to feed off the energy of the crowd.

@ Troy Polamalu looks a little heavier than usual. He's doing his usual work after practice and such, but he's starting to fight father time and genetics.

I still expect Polamalu to be a difference maker, however.

@ Don't be surprised if the Steelers bring in a veteran wide receiver or two for workouts in an effort to scare Mike Wallace into camp - Plaxico Burress anyone?

The team could also open negotiations with the agent of wide receiver Antonio Brown.

*checks in*

Extremely excited for the season. New coordinator. Some new faces. Same tradition:ahh:

I see our o-line as

Adams(or Starks)
Colon
Pouncey
DeCastro
Gilibert

If all goes well Ben will have his best Oline in about 4 or 5 years

I've seen a lot of talk about the offense being a lot like the offense Whisenhunt ran when he was here, which isn't a bad thing. At least Arians is Indy's problem now :lawd:

I'm curious to see how ILB shakes out. We know Timmons is gonna man one spot but will Foote be able to beat out Sylvester or Spence?

Allen/Brown should also see an increased role @ db this year as well

Hopefully Wallace gets signed. In the meantime a healthy trio of Brown/Sanders/Cotchery isn't too bad either

I'm ready

I'm in! Check out this site too. I've been eating off them since they started. They did a similar thing to what we did with Sohh

Started out on Stillers.com. They were so negative! A couple of heads started SteelerFury.com. Great writers and discussions.

The Passage of Time
Living in Los Angeles, Ca. we have a host of Steelers Bars here. Most of the regulars are scooping up Steelers Vs Raiders Tickets on the 9/23 we flying up and shutting shyt down.

Nah but really I'm going to do what I did when the Steelers played the Raiders when the Raiders where in LA and I was the only steelers fan in the bldg. I would say shyt like this to avoid getting jump. Damn man how in the fukk did they Barry Foster score that damn TD, c'mon Raiders fukk. All the while laughing on the inside. I saw some vicious ass whippings before they decided to have LAPD patrol the stands I'm talking a section vs 1 or 2 dudes, that shyt ain't fair.

The Steelers offense is going to be awesome serving that potent product with W. Saunders and H. Miller coupled with B. Batch and that Florida boy as a dual 3rd down backs causing fits when those 2 dudes are on the field.

Wallace wants VJax money

Steelers extend Antonio Brown with five-year, $42.5M contract | TribLIVE
The message the Steelers sent to Wallace — their holdout receiver who wants a contract like receiver Vincent Jackson’s $55 million contract with Tampa Bay — couldn’t be clearer. Namely, if he wants a new contract, he needs to be in camp. Wallace, who has failed to sign his $2.742 million tender, is the only restricted free agent in the NFL who is not in training camp.

I've been reading good things about Chris Carter. OLB depth is a must and having him step up would be HUGE. Worilds was ok last season but I need him to step it up even more. Deebo is 34 and not getting any younger
