let's face it nikkas. some dudes have it and some dudes don't.

i love me some chris webber brehs. that's my boy. but calling out time out like that made me to realize basketball ain't just about physical ability. after that game i realized mental weakness is real. when we get nervous we sweat. sometimes even stutter. ballers are same. when they get nervous they do things they don't normally do.

what we have learned today is simple - James Harden doesn't have it. Mentally he is weak. he saw spurs showing up and he didn't know what to do. He froze. He didn't give up. he just didn't know what to do. the whole world collapsed on him.

my favorite ads are snickers ads. the message is so damn truth. you are not you when you are hungry. james harden wasn't harden tonight because he got scared. mentally he broke down.

so what's the solution? there's no solution. You can't lead a team when you don't have the mental game. but it's ok. you can still play in a championship contender team as a ROBIN. that's what he is. He needs somebody to lean on because he sure ain't BATMAN.

THAT'S what brought you to the realization? :dwillhuh:

Of course it's more mental than physical. That goes for ALL aspects of life. When we get down to the brass tax of it all, there isn't THAT much physical difference in terms of natural talent and ability between most of the players in the NBA after you take into account size differences. The difference is usually mental toughness, will, work ethic, and opportunity.

James Harden may be mentally weak today, but the good thing is you can develop stronger mental toughness. It's just he has to actually do it. These performances he's had in the playoffs can either damn him and be what will define the rest of his career, or it could spur him into becoming an all-time great player. There is plenty historical evidence of legendary players who showed up very short on the biggest stage in some of the biggest moments of their career, and then came back much stronger and took their games to incredible heights.

i honestly didn't believe in mental game back then. i thought in a 5 on 5 fast paced game nikkas didn't have a time to think. but i was dead wrong. these nikkas think too much.

we see time after time. nikkas missing free throws in a critical situation. missing an easy fg. it's all mental.

that's why MJ Is the GOAT to me brehs. and that's why Kobe is my 2nd favorite nikka. i like killers. this game needs killers who deliver in the crunch time. harden just doesn't have it

He can either grow from this and get stronger or he can be a bytch for life like Durant. We will see

he might have a series or two with clutch performances. but in his DNA when things go wrong he doesn't have a will power to recover from it. he can't just snap out of it. this ain't the first time he pulled this sh1t repeatedly

Yup. MJ the goat. Seriously he basically never shrunk in those moments. He always wanted it. That killer instinct. Win or lose he was willing to go for it. Obviously that killer instinct is mental and can't really be taught, but I credit the GAWD Dean Smith with really developing and preparing MJ to know how to handle basically everything basketball related. It's why MJ credits Dean so much, like a second father. MJ was ready to hit that shot as a freshman for the title because of Dean.

MJ =GOAT
DEAN=Equal opportunity GAWD coach

Jordan after countless pistons losses
Lebron after his playoff losses too
