Asians, Mexicans, Indians, etc. All these other groups actively promote white idolization in their physical features. You never see a dark skinned indian like this being cast as the leading lady in bollywood for example.

A lot of people in China didn't feel that Marvel shang chi movie either for a similar reason. They felt the actor was too Asian looking.

They prefer they look like they could pass for some western admixture instead of their aunty and uncle back in their rural hometowns.

I just assumed it was because they didn’t want marketing companies using a picture that stereotypes them for their gain. Either way they doing too much.

If Black people didn't like black media figures to have big lips or dark skin would that be ok? Would that not be self hate? I don't know why you're giving so many excuses for them. They are rejecting a core part of their race and many people who are born with those traits. And it's all done so that they can appease western beauty standards which sometimes finds women like the model who was criticized to be beautiful. I don't know why we as outside observers should find that type of behavior acceptable. It's toxic self hate at it's core.
