Metal Slug vs Contra... Which old school series did you like better?

With all this talk about the NES Classic recently it got me thinking about some of my favorite games from back in the day. Out of these two games from back in the day... which game did you enjoy more?

Contra 1 is the best game overall, but metal slug is the better series. Better weapons, better enemies, better animations. It does get penalized for being designed to be a quarter eater. Its no fun to die because the cpu just spams its projectile everywhere attack.

Definitely metal slug those sprites are gorgeous and they still hold up today.

I'm going have to go with Metal Slug. I always liked the cartoon graphic style of Metal Slug too.

Lol at "2 can play together" because that really was a big deal. Ikari warriors 2 was good too. PT.3, not so much
