:comeon: putting a legend against a guy who makes the same beats over and over.

funny cuz this could also say youre fukkin with metro, since premo uses the same formula for the majority of his production. sample, chop it up some, scratch in some rap vocal samples, voila

:yeshrug:just playin devils advocate. you know a premo beat when you hear it, and you also know a metro beat when you hear it.

maybe they aint that different brehs

Can you give some examples? Or explanations really?

Now I don't mean to hype up another producer that's already poppin, but metro is actually doing something that hasn't been done before in the way he creates beats.

His melodies aren't always typical, he uses melodies that are classical music inspired. Most trap beats use the "root note, note above root note" interval for a menacing sound. Metro will do "Root note, one note below root note" and this gives a more mischievous, villainous sound. You are a mobb deep fan. Mobb Deep has a lot of beats that have that classical piano sound, and I hear a lot of similar melodies/progressions in Metro's music. He's bringing new ideas to the trap sound. It doesn't stop there. He freaks the vsts/synths by using effects that people were not using (time effects like gross beat). Adding onto that, he can get crazy with the drums when he wants (Lately he's been phoning it in.)

This is one of Metro's best beats to date, he even makes travis scott listenable.
