The shock jocks all praise him because it equals ratings. Building him up like a superhero = ratings. Meanwhile, for LeBron, the focus has always been on the negative. It has always been cool to hate him.
Last year, people still called Kobe the greatest player in the league and the response was

No matter how heavy it was laid out for Kobe, it was never controversial to do it. He could be down 100 in the 4th and if a media head said he still thinks Kobe would come back to win, people would be like "
