Story highlights
  • Mexicans burn effigies of disliked public figures as part of an Easter tradition
  • Effigies of Donald Trump, Obama and 'El Chapo' among those burned

(CNN)Mexicans are setting fire to Donald Trump. And President Barack Obama.

Well, sort of.
While it's quite a headline, there's a back story.
The Mexican tradition is similar to the "burning of Judas," in which Christians burn effigies of Judas around Easter.
Mexicans, instead, burn cardboard effigies of the devil, politicians and people they generally don't like.
Trump, the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, was a predictable choice. When he declared his presidential campaign, he called Mexicans emigrating to the United States "criminals" and "rapists."
He's vowed to make Mexico pay for a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border, which has drawn the ire of many Mexicans.
Ex-Mexican president Fox: 'I'm not going to pay for that f***ing wall'
There was also an effigy of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the notorious leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel who escaped from prison and was recaptured in January.
A symbol of abhorred extremist group ISIS also got thrown into the embers.
Obama's effigy also made the cut.
It could be because U.S. deportation of undocumented immigrantsreached a record-high in 2013.
The President has been under fire for increasing immigration raids and deportations during his administration.

I hope all the people who cape for these folks read up on their immigration laws first :upsetfavre:

"According to Mexico’s immigration laws, every article of law controls illegal immigration into Mexican territory. If you immigrate to Mexico, Article 32 states you must speak Spanish and must be a professional who is useful to the Mexican society."

"Article 34 states that foreigners must have the necessary funds to support themselves and their dependents. There are no welfare programs, food stamps, government housing or entitlements."

"Article 116 states foreigners using fake documents face a fine and imprisonment. Immigrants must show birth certificate to show citizenship. Articles 117-121 state foreigners who fail to obey laws will be fined, deported, and felons imprisoned. No one is allowed to enter the country with a criminal record. There is no due process of deportation. There is no 14th Amendment. Law enforcement officers are required to enforce Mexico’s immigration laws at all times. Articles 123-126 make illegal immigration a felony. Articles 127 state any Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner is subject to five years in prison."

But this isn't being articulated to the US public. Hush money is suppressing this knowledge. The Dems want them in to strengthen their voter blocs to stay in power. It's sinister.

Yup, the U.S public has to hear a million sob stories and get called racists if we disagree with millions of them coming in illegally. I just try to avoid this topic now, this shyt frustrates me.
