so underrated. his solo releases, which he produced almost the entirety of, are dripping with heat. if he wasn't borderline, he could have been big in the industry. he's still somewhat of a name in the underground, but he never really broke ground the way his talent should have allowed him to. he's a perfect example of that saying about genius and mental instability.

Absolutely. He needs to let the special herbs series rest though.

what do you mean??
has he put recent "Special Herbs" tracks or albums???

I love them shiits :jawalrus: I was listening that Redbull interview, haven't completed it yet...but he was saying how he likes to keep the majority of his original samples intact.....thats why they sounds so authentic,

dude is spectacular producer...no doubt......amazing that more artists haven't asked him for tracks, or so it seems...

When was it ever disputed that he wasn't a great producer?

You're right about him not really breaking through. He was on the verge between 2004 - 2007, but he never really went to the next level. I'm going to see him this summer, does he give away a dope show?

he was on the verge of breaking through then he dropped off the planet with a bunch of long awaited projects that never materialised. Ghost & Doom, Madvillain 2, etc.

I was heavily anticipating those 2 records, the leaked tracks were really nice. I wasn't really a fan of Born Like This though.

hes good, not great imo. drums are weird and often too sharp, and hes been reusing the same shyt he did during his 2004 run

guarantee that Masta Ace album is all old beats, i think dude just kind of stopped trying

i'm sick of that shyt happening. i think it might be that 9 Milli Bros beat from Fishscale, that was a beat from the KMD Black b*stards album. (might not be 9 Milli Bros but i KNOW a beat he used from the 2000s was from the 1994 album Black b*stards)

i love his work, but i definately disagree with him adding that loud snare to that ghost/doom track "angels" on his album. the original one i had on nature sounds sounded much better without it.

the reason why people want the special herbs to be put to rest because its been rinsed out and its been out for 13 years.
