Metal Gear Online PC Beta Goes Live Today! | SegmentNext

We reported to you a couple of days ago that although the developers were totally silent about it for a while, Metal Gear Online for PC was still alive and kicking although has been a pretty long wait as the game was promised to go live alongside the release of Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain, just like the console versions.

However, the developers have confirmed we are finally going to get our hands on the free multiplayer game on PCs, the beta version at least.

One of the first lines that the announcement from the developers read “a strong man doesn’t need to read the future. He simply needs to wait for MGO on PC.” That alone shows they feel me, but the developers making fun of their own delays, that is something new.

Anyhow, the post goes on to confirm that today i.e. January 12 you will be able to download the PC beta of the game at 10PM Pacific Time.

Since the delay announcement last year, MGO fans have been waiting patiently for the latest update for their favorite online multiplayer to arrive on their favorite platform, the indomitable PC! That day is nearly here, as recently announced via the Konami Twitch Channel, players can opt in and download the Beta release of Metal Gear Online.

While they have announced 10PM to be the time when the PC beta launches, they have also added a cautionary note saying that the exact launch might or might not slip by an hour or two because they will be implementing the updates side by side.

This will also include a new map and some other things for console/pc

Hackers are going to have to be real legit with their hacks because Konami's Code states the enforcement of Perm Bans meaning they won't just ban you from MGO, they'll ban you from MGSV entirely

I played the hell out of the MGO version that came with MGSIV. I like games that require some thought short of just ...run, gun, drop, repeat. (looking at COD )
I got tired of konami selling extra characters / content you have to compete against ........

Haven't really looked into the newer version though.

MGO2 has more content that MGO3 but as far Konami is saying, it's still "beta."

Only complaints I've heard so far is the lack of maps and balance issues that were sorted out the last update. Even so..they are adding a new map with today's update. As far as connection issues with PVP, that's normal console player issues
Either way PC has a mod community so naturally the game will live longer than the console version.

All n all Konami isn't dead and yet so I expect more updates. Regardless off what some butthurt fanboys say, Konami has been updating MGSV since it's released...literally like every month.
