MIAMI -

A motorist and police officer in Florida had something of a role reversal Friday.

It started after a Miami woman noticed a squad car that she says was speeding.

She says it frightened her, so she did something most of us wouldn't.

She chased the officer down, recording the encounter on her cell phone.

A Friday afternoon on the Dolphin Expressway took an interesting turn for one Miami Dade police officer.

"The reason I pulled you over today and asking you to have a conversation is because I saw you by Miller Drive and you were pushing 90 miles an hour," Claudia Castillo said.
The cop replied, "Really, ok."

Castillo said she was running errands for work around 1:30 p.m. when all of a sudden, a squad car allegedly sped by her so fast, it shook her car.

"It scared the daylights out of me," she said. "I mean, he woke me up."

Castillo decided to follow the officer until she could get him to pull over.

The officer, got out of his car, thinking she had an emergency. But then Castillo started the questioning.

"You were leaving me behind, and I was going 80 miles an hour, and I just wanted to know, what's the emergency?" she asked

"I don't know how fast I was going, but I can tell you I'm on the way to work," the officer said. "I don't believe I was speeding."

Castillo said she also sped up, but only for a few moments to see how fast the officer was going.

She says she didn't film it to cast a shadow over the officer or law enforcement.

"They're not bad guys, but they are held to certain principles," she said.

The video, which has now gone viral, later shows the officer apologizing and the two coming to somewhat of a solution.
"You were speeding," Castillo said.

"Well, I apologize and I'll be sure to slow down," the officer replied.

"All right," Castillo replied.

Miami Dade Police released a statement Sunday, saying, "The Miami Dade Police Department will have his immediate command staff investigate the matter, once the officer and citizen are identified. The appropriate course of action will be taken at that point."

Castillo was not given a ticket for speeding.
