David Stern picked the right time to hand the league over to Silver with it thriving like this. We can only hope that iconic players who compel the average viewer like Magic Bird MJ Bron Kobe and Shaq keep entering the league as far as being fans are concerned. But for the NBA without these type of stars the league wouldn't thrive like it is now. It wasn't that long ago that the Finals were on tape delay.

It wasn't that long ago? It was over 30 years ago:dahell:

30 years aint that long though. My point was just like the NBA came out of a dark age I wouldn't want to see them go back into the dark age either after the work and good that Stern has done for the league. Now teleprompt that asswipe.

do you remember the Finals being on tape delay?

Most of you cats ignore the anything that happened in the NBA before Jordan, yet you want to make a case that taped delay finals were recent, lol.

the chances for a dark age reappearing ended after the lockout last year. The NBA is all about stars and iconic players, and sometimes teams. That shyt has no chance of happening until Bron, Durant, Melo, and a few others turn into :flabbynsick: and no one steps up to replace them.

yeah, that shyt aint accurate... they just put like 5,000 of those boxes spread out in different demographics.

Every Bar in L.A. was jam packed last night, all watchin the game.

World Series last year averaged 8.3 :skip:

No it didn't. That was the rating not the amount of viewers. And it was Tigers vs. The Giants.

for real, i wouldn't have said thisa few years back, but i think we are consistently getting great series. we had 2 classic 7 game series just this past few weeks, and in 2010, the lakers vs the celtics, plus we have big name charismatic characters. lebron, kobe, tim duncan, these are legends in exciting games. its a good time. was worried for the NBA a while back post jordan, but i think its as good as ever. lebron filling out into that superstar role, we are entering an exciting era. i just hope kobe sticks around.

The KING truly SHUNNED all the PEASANTS wishing for him to lose.

I hope he made believers out of the non believers and gained even more disciples in game 7
