1. so, u just gonna act like slick rick wasnt talking greasy about damn near every rapper named in that interview
i mean, rick basically dissed run the younger brother of russlle whom was rick boss
2. 2live crew made booty shaking music - in that time / era, that type of hiphop wasnt gonna resonate in nyc
(BTW... luke & his crew are from Florida - how dose this pertain to east coast west coast beef)
3. tim dog did that song for his own benefit/come up ; west was selling way more then da east & he problaly felt it was a good way to get his name out... plus it was originally a response to NWA in an interview where they kinda took a lil jab at the bronx
(fukk Compton was a dope song but personally im not a fan of doing a diss song for those reasons)
4. what is this mack 10 vs flex tunnel diss ? flex may had words for west side connection, but i dont ever recall an incident at the tunnel
finally i was there in real time, the east coast is just like every other place (we like what we like)
in the west... they bump predominately west coast artists
in the south... they bump predominately southern artists
as in the mid west... they bump predominately mid west artists
so WHY.............,,,,
its only a problem when east coast, but rather new york bump our own shyt ???
dont get it twisted : WE AINT START shyt
1-SLick Rick dissed ALL of the west coast, not a few. The point was the east was talking disrespectful, and like the poster showed, west coast artists seen the shyt, and responded.
2-They were from Down South, but NYC saw everyone as country bamas, so they were seen as the same thing. It wasn't until west coast popped with Death Row, that the west coast was seen as different. Again, my point was how disrespectful NYC was to people from other regions. It was called east coast/west coast beef because the west were the ones who responded back heavy, and with violence.
3-I didn't say rappers made songs dissing the west, I said it was the fans, and the media, just like the poster linked. And what Jab was this towards the Bronx? I was heavy into hip hop, and never heard ANYONE dis NY, they ALL respected us. I used to go out of town, and they loved us, except a few for certain reasons, and some were warranted. This guy talks about it in this "welcome to deathrow" documentary:
4-That wasn't known, I saw it locally, but I remember Funkmaster flex shytting on the west coast on his show. Somehow Mack 10 knew about it, and called him out on "streetfunk tv". Anyone who was deep into hip hop remembers all of this, but the media is in NYC so they can rewrite history to make things seem different, but we started it with the disrespect, plain & simple. I was one of them, but I saw it was dumb after a while, BUT I got laughed at for playing the shyt, I was a dj!
You can like what you like, but be respectful, that is what caused the problems, the disrespect. I remember when DMX was asked if he liked Cash money's music while on tour with them, but he was respectful about it, and he said "I respect it". That is the difference between someone who doesn't like music, but is respectful, and another just calling people bamas, stupid for gangbanging over colors, and wack ass nikkas, when those people never said anything disrespectful to them. The issue is the people who were dissing were soft, and got their cards pulled by the west, and the south. I remember when NYC people were playing that tough guy shyt, and got shot up down south, I have countless stories of NYC thinking shyt is sweet, and got killed or shot out of town. I had some issues with out of towners, but because I was respectful the shyt only went to fighting, and the people held me down.
