Micah needs to force his way out and set a precedent. Jerry Jones needs to feel pain. I hope no good player signs long term deals in Dallas. It’s not worth working for Jerry Jones. The brand needs to burn until his family no longer owns it.
He mad Dak the highest paid QB ever.

He mad Zeke the highest paid RB ever.

He made Diggs one of the highest paid DB's ever.

He made Ceedee the second highest paid non QB ever.

He made Dak the highest paid QB ever AGAIN.

No single person has reset the market for multiple positions as much as Jerry Jones.:pachaha:

If you care about money then it is most definitely worth it to work for Jerry Jones.

Jerry gave Zeke 50 million dollars when the average nfl running back wasn't even making 5 million :pachaha:

It seems like Jerry Jones and Micah did come to an agreement, and then Micah went to his agent who wanted more, or wanted certain offset language in the contract. You 100% go through your agent for this, but I get why Jerry Jones would be irritated if he had a verbal agreement with Micah.

I think Micah ends up being the highest paid defensive player because Jerry ends up almost always overpaying. Micah also has a history of making some stupid comments, especially the passive aggressive ones.

The one major advantage that Jerry Jones has is the ability to use the franchise tag twice on Micah. The Cowboys absolutely have more leverage than Micah in this situation. The NFL needs to get rid of the franchise tag or make significant changes to it.

A businessman like Jerry should be mad at only himself for going by verbal agreements. Old man with that much experience acting like that? Come on..

Should have gotten the white man paperwork, as Dr Umar would say.

What would the players union give up as a concession?

I'm not saying he's in the right, but I also recognize we don't know exactly what transpired then and since then between the parties. Of course you have to get it in writing. Everyone knows nothing is final until it's in writing, but if he had a verbal agreement with Parsons and then Parsons backed out, I get why Jerry is irritated. Jerry does himself no favors though.

At the end of the day, Micah has very little leverage with being able to be franchise tagged multiple times.

I think it would be a few things.

1. Agreeing to an 18 game schedule, although I think that will happen with the players support. I know some don't want too because of the toll it takes on the body, but money talks.

2. I think many players would not like this option, but maybe the NFLPA would agree to a slightly lower share of revenue. Is that a trade off most would be content with? I'm not too sure as most players aren't impacted by the franchise tag, but the biggest stars are.

3. This one would probably not be liked by a lot of the players, but maybe the owners would go for having more "outs" or options for getting out of big contracts that aren't working out.

I really don't like the franchise tag, and I'd also be open to QB's not fully counting against the salary cap.

I bet Jerry is purposely leaving off that they did indeed meet but at a so called leadership conference which then turned into a contract meeting. Micah likely told the agent about this meeting and the contract and that’s when the agent responded. Micah then called Jerry about it for him to discuss it with the agent.

This is Jerry trying to be in a position of power in this situation. Jerry has no business to cut out the agent in this situation especially if it’s not in the best interest of the player. Where in the NFLPA in this?

I absolutely agree with what you are saying, and you could very well be right with your first sentence. At the end of the day, I think Micah gets a big deal. I would lean towards saying it's with Dallas, but I wouldn't rule out a trade.

Again, with the franchise tag, the teams have a LOT more power in the negotiations. As great of a player as Parsons may be, he's not a QB. Teams will deal with QB's differently than any other position. There is a very small chance you can win a bunch of games without a very good QB, but you can manage without a very good defensive player that always goes missing in big moments.

He might be the Joe Burrow of defensive players.:ohhh:.

If I'm the owners I probably feel like I can get all of that without acquiescing to the players. The NFL union is not like that. Maybe this recent scandal puts the battery in their back to hold a line but I doubt it.

Yea, Jerruh moves funny style. With those old school Texas oilman backroom deals on napkins. But facts is that he pays very well, and is more loyal than most.

That’s not what makes him a bad owner, it’s that he runs the shyt on his gut feeling.

Also, I think it’s funny that nobody has considered the fact that Micah might be requesting a figure which is completely insane. Just because it’s jerruh.
