The creators said they are never doing a movie based on the game. The Houser brothers/Rockstar who make the games see the series as direct competition to movies for the video game platform. Kinda how Allen Moore feels about comics vs movies. Some stories are just made for a specific medium.

There is a movie in the pipeline about them and Rockstar games though.
